Hello, I’m Andrew.

My career has spanned branding, creative direction, and experience design, and every role has given me opportunities to thrive in ambiguity and gain indispensable experience as a design leader, people manager, mentor, user-advocate, collaborator, and influencer. Curiosity and the desire to help is in my nature, which makes problem-solving, organizing, and mentoring instinctive—and fulfilling.

For the past 5+ years, I’ve gone all-in on proliferating in-house UX Practice growth strategy for enterprise-level product organizations.

I am obsessed (in a good way) with aligning the culture, process and team around the user. I am exhilarated by creating the space and motivation for my team to make a difference.

Currently, I am the Senior Director, User Experience & Design for Well. Over the past 2 years, I have worked to instill an iterative, human-centered design practice. Working with constituents across the organization, we’ve transformed a “design team of 1” into a multi-disciplinary group focused on research, design iteration, prototyping, testing and content creation. We have articulated a vision and extrapolated it into a tactful roadmap full of problems to solve and opportunities to pursue—most importantly, all of it aligns to a set of user-centered engagement metrics.

In 2 years, we have accomplished a great many things, including:

  • Established a new vision and tactical roadmap for the transformation of the Well app, focused on meeting users where they are with high-volume experiences that eventually lead them into lifestyle change and improved health outcomes

  • Launched the foundation of our enterprise Design System

  • Introduced our own unique Experience Principles, combined with resetting our standards for design reviews and feedback

  • Installed design delivery processes, including new ways for tracking, estimating, load-balancing, and defining readiness and/or success

  • Instituted LeanUX and Design Thinking practices in order to facilitate effective workshops

  • Audited and improved operations for content and illustration production

Prior to my in-house time, I spent 15+ years as a creative agency consultant—leading our teams on high-profile initiatives for enterprises, government agencies, healthcare and higher education institutions.
